I have a Dream – Kings Speech

I have a Dream

I have a dream that one day this world will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created to live in joy and happiness.”

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a world where they will not have to worry about all the pain life is about to give them but rejoice on all the good things life has given them.

I have a dream that one day, in the dawn of civilisation with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of “interposition” and “nullification” — one day right there we can sit and drink with the sun on our shoulders and feel like free men.

Hell, we could be tarring the roof of one of our own houses. We will be the lords of all creation. As for Andy – he will be spending that break hunkered in the shade, a strange little smile on his face, watching us drink his beer.
I have a dream today!
